Synapse Physiotherapy offers specialised neurological physiotherapy and
rehabilitation within your own home environment.
All neurological conditions are assessed and treated as appropriate, including Stroke (CVA),
Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Parkinson's Disease, Motor Neurone Disease (MND),
Acquired Brain Injury (Head Injury), Spinal Cord Injury and others.
A responsive, friendly and caring service is provided in Maidstone and
the surrounding area, without the need to travel to a treatment centre.
Physiotherapy can help with the following:
- Improving muscle control and strength
- Improving balance
- Reducing unwanted muscle contraction/spasms
- Where able, improve walking ability
- Improving function within the home and reducing the risk of falling
- Increasing the sense of well being and an improvement in mood
A wide range of physiotherapeutic approaches are used including exercise, 'hands on' facilitation, PNF, balance
re-education,muscle stretches, massage and electrical stimulation.
After an assessment of your current function, realistic goals will be discussed
and a treament plan formulated.
This may range from a course of intensive rehabilitation, to a monthly session to maintain physical
ability. The main aim is to maximise functional ability within the limits of your condition.
The treatment of non-neurological conditions, including general rehabilitation after a hospital stay, may
also be offered.
